We are seeking a Design Engineer who is familiar with designing electro-mechanical devices using CAD software packages.


Position Description:

 
 • Creation and refinement of technical mechanical part and assembly drawings to capture design intent and document the key aspects necessary to accomplish the manufacturing goals of a project.
 
• Work under the supervision of Mechanical, Systems and Transducer engineers to develop key mechanical drawings.
 
• Update and revise 2D drawings on changes needed by Engineers and Designers.
 
 • Manage drawing system integrity in product data management system
 
• Check drafts to ensure accuracy and completeness with design engineers
 
• Work closely with partners manufacturing facilities to transition and support the manufacture of loudspeaker products, transducers, electronics and sub assemblies.

 • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting CAD software such as SolidWorks.
 
• Produce effective product designs by using their understanding of engineering and manufacturing techniques
 
 • Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems and to resolve design, manufacturing or other problems.
 
 • Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
 
 • Position instructions and comments onto drawings.
 
• Create exploded views with part numbers based on bill of material
 
 • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
 
• Work closely with loudspeaker systems engineers to define and develop mechanical requirements and specifications.


Skills Required:
 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
 
 • 3 years’ minimum experience in design and development of mechanical products and assemblies
 
 • Engineering experience and formal training in MCAD tools
 
 • Willingness and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
 


Experience Required:

 
• 3 years’ minimum experience in design and development of mechanical products and assemblies
 
 • Engineering experience and formal training in MCAD tools
 
 • Willingness and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
 
 • Work in a collaborative multi-disciplined team environment Desired Characteristics:
 
• Engineering experience and proficiency in SolidWorks
 
 • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
 
 • Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
 
 • Experience elaborating 2D drawings from 3D CAD models using standard drafting practices
 
• Knowledge of design requirements for injection molding, die casting, woodworking, sheet metal, stamping, CNC machining, finishing, etc.
 
 • Experience in a work-group or collaborative engineering team in a matrix organization.

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
