Our Wiring Design & Applications Engineer (PASDS) will support wiring design through a typical product life-cycle. They will also be involved in the collaboration with Wiring Designers to draft 2D prints from 3D math Data, defining material and Engineering specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Preferred
  • Support wiring design through a typical product life-cycle
  • Support and Coordinate with commercial teams by generating bills of materials (BOMS) for New Business Opportunities & Current Programs pulling from experience, Customer prints, and other research to specify engineering components not fully defined in these opportunities. In addition to, Engineering Development Cost for Engineering Changes.
  • Review and Prepare drawings of wire harness assemblies including all necessary information required to define and draw wire harnesses according to customer and company specifications.
  • Review and verify design to company and customer requirements
  • Support and Lead cross- functional design reviews and participate in Routing Quality Assessments and Design For Manufacturing activities
  • Coordinate and Participate in VE/VA and Continuous Improvement projects as required.
  • Support and Coordinate the Engineering Change Control Process as:
  • Prints, Components and BOMs release
  • Update BOMs and components
  • Clean up data base
  • Support training for EDAG Internal or External Customers Engineering Changes Management tool
  • Support and Collaborate with Wiring Designers to drafting 2D prints from 3D math Data, defining material and Engineering specifications.
  • Support and Coordinate with the Manufacturing Plant for Internal Deviations Request
  • Act as Liaison among Wiring Product Engineering group, Customer Engineering Design and Manufacturing plant for all activities required during the Engineering Change Control Process.

  • If the employee belongs or a certain commission or brigade inside the company, he should complete the following tasks:
  • Significant environmental impact review and identification
  • Environmental audits, procedures and work instructions activities ad action plan follow up
  • Environmental system follow up and continuous improvement
Education and Experience:
  • BS Electrical / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
  • 3 to 9 years Experience in some or most skills showed below in Wiring Harnesses
  • Wiring Harness Engineering Design Experience
  • Several years experience in automotive industry, wiring
  • Design Release Experience
  • Experience being resident at a customer releasing Wiring Harnesses
  • Component Selection Experience Based on Customer Engineering Requirements & Specifications
  • Engineering Change Control Processes and Evaluation of Change Options and cost management
  • Mentor Graphics Experience Preferred
  • Strong organization and communication skills and Ability to Document Project & Product Design Elements
  • Experience in Component Level Validation & Harness DVP&Rs, DFM, DFMEA
  • Familiarity with multiple customer specifications and requirements
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD Systems
  • Strong proficiency in Print Marking, Reading, and Checking utilizing 3D Math to Generate 2D Wire Harness Prints
  • Ability to read and understand specs, schematics, 3D CAD data (Catia or NX)
  • Ability to work independently in a cross functional team environment.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and in high pressure environment
  • Continuous contact with appropriate customer departments
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD Systems
  • Familiarity with Zuken E3 or Mentor Graphics Capital Suite Preferred
  • Familiarity with Catia, NX & Team Center or other similar PLM Systems
  • Good communication skills for interfacing with engineering, suppliers, manufacturing and customers both verbal and written.
  • OEM Launch Support and Problem Resolution and Tracking
  • Bilingual English-Spanish NOT REQUIRED, BUT HELPFUL
  • Wiring Harness Engineering Design Experience
  • Familiarity with multiple customer specifications and requirements
  • OEM Launch Support and Problem Resolution and Tracking
  • Limited Component Design preferred, but not required
  • Experience in Component Level Validation
  • Familiarity with System Level Validation of Wiring Systems
  • Automotive Systems Engineering Preferred but not required.
  • Wiring Methods Experience preferred
  • Wiring Harness assembly and fabrication preferred but not required
  • Strong organization and leadership abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Experience in Component Level Validation
  • Familiarity with System Level Validation of Wiring Systems
  • Automotive Systems Engineering Preferred but not required.
  • Team work, Continuous contact with appropriate customer departments
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
