-- Conduct numerous types of laboratory tests such as chemical tests, microscopic tests and bacteriological tests. Prepare specimens as required with things such as filters, reagents, heat or with different solutions.
-- Performs laboratory testing, verifying results using knowledge of principles, QC, and instruments and interprets results based on physiology.
-- Recognizes and solves problems using skills and technical knowledge
-- Baccalaureate degree required. Previous experience preferred. MLS/MT (ASCP) registry required.
-- To be eligible to sit for the exam you must have successfully completed a MLS/MT internship. Membership and active participation in professional organization desirable. Must have the ability to work flexible hours.
-- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with other hospital personnel, patients, vendors and service personnel.
-- Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status
-- Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse requirement within 6 months of hire and renews this requirement every 5 years
