Amplifier Validation Engineer

Novi, Michigan
• Interface with the Product Engineering group to ensure that necessary qualification activities are included in the project plans and that all planned qualification activities occur. • Creates, the Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) for responsible products. • Interface with other our quality organizations to ensure all qualification issues are resolved in a timely manner. • Responsible for developing electrical and mechanical tests and analysis for electronic components to determine that processed materials are meeting required standards and specifications, while maintaining and updating reports, files, and test data as required. • Responsible for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project. • Develops and prepares preliminary drawings or sketches showing proposed specifications, design characteristics, wiring diagrams, BOM (Bill of Material), etc. and also makes recommendations regarding these items for consideration and evaluation by Manager. • Schedule testing activities for an assigned project, e.g. estimate required hours and record actual vs. estimated, assist with and resolve scheduling problems for assigned project/job and determine feasibility. • Works form detailed drawings, blueprints, diagrams, schematics, as well as verbal and written instructions. • Use multi-meter, o-scope, analyzers, digital analysis tools, machine tools, soldering equipment and computers to design and document test setups. • Responsible for training as required for specific test setups. • Responsible to perform other tasks as business needs require or as assigned by management.
 
Skills Required: o Understand how to use specific lab equipment including: data acquisition systems, oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, digital analysis tools, machine tools, soldering equipment and computers to design and document test apparatus. o Proven ability to communicate effectively and work with a small team of technicians to complete projects. o Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook. o Proficient in computer languages: C/C++, LabView/LabWindows, etc… is a plus
 
Skills Preferred: Knowledge of audio components: speakers, amplifiers, head-units etc…, how they are designed, work, and interact with each other
 
Experience Required: o 5 years related electrical engineering experience. o Prior experience with audio components: speakers, amplifiers, head-units. o Proven ability to be flexible, prioritize and manage multiple projects, as well as solve problems in a timely manner. o Prior experience working with a team of technicians
 
Experience Preferred: o Knowledge of audio components: speakers, amplifiers, head-units etc…, how they are designed, work, and interact with each other
 
Education Required: o BSEE minimum degree required, or other related engineering field. i.e. BSCE
 
NOTE: Higher bill rates will be accepted for candidates with more experience
