As temporary Records Paralegal, under the supervision of the Director of Legal Operations and Compliance you will review approximately 40 file boxes to identify document type and retention period against a provided guideline, shred non-records and re pack the remaining material for scanning and destruction, return or permanent storage. Create index for each file box. Time allowing you may also be asked to scan and upload entity documents against the corresponding SharePoint record. Job Responsibilities: o Review record description in Excel spreadsheet against retention period from General Records Retention Guidelines, determine and input best match. o Against provided instructions determine whether each file is to be scanned or shredded. o For each file to be scanned against provided instructions determine reassembly approach, whether hard copy is retained and if so whether returned or filed in offsite storage. o Group folders that will be treated the same with respect to reassembly and storage by box o Create an inventory of contents for each box against provided instructions; populate box number on home tab of Excel workbook. o Edit instructions for clarity as needed. • Project 2: Match documents against correct entity record in SharePoint; upload document to record

Skills Required

• Requires ability to read and take correct action on written instructions in English and workflow charts. • Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word. MS Visio and SharePoint proficiency preferred. • Must take initiative and be proactive in communicating questions and concerns. Solution-focused. • Must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment with minimal supervision. • Demonstrated diligence, attention-to-detail and follow-through skills. • Demonstrated time and project management skills. • Able to lift a box of up to 20 lbs. Flexibility to work in temporary workspace. • Strong customer service orientation. Positive attitude

Experience:

Requires at least 2 years of records management or law library experience as a paralegal or manager

Education

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or commensurate work experience
