Senior Tooling Engineer

Essential Job Functions:
  • Responsible for the design of a wide variety of complex tooling consistent with Company Standards including molding, machining, drilling, assembly, bonding and check fixtures.
  • Works with Customer Engineering, Program Manager, Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer to design product for manufacturing.
  • Provides sales support for customer calls, tool quotations and financial analysis.
  • Performs research, testing, data gathering, measurements, or engineering analysis in an office, laboratory or manufacturing environment.  Incumbents routinely handle complex engineering assignments and participate as strong contributors on cross-functional teams.
  • Performs engineering support on complex projects or technical assignments. 
  • Responsible for tooling programs from inception through the launch in manufacturing facilities.
  • Required to lead projects or assignments of significant scope without supervision except in unusual circumstances. Designs tests or experiments to support project targets.
  • Independently experiments, compiles data and analyzes results.  Makes recommendations for project or team review.
  • Designs, testing and analysis must comply with TS and ISO procedures.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Design, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Science.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience required in a design, engineering, automotive, or manufacturing environment including demonstrated expertise in CAD and/or PFMEA.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques and program leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of automotive industry standards and procedures strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Project, Word, and PowerPoint.
