Business Systems Analyst

We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to manage and drive information system design projects throughout the software development life cycle from initial analysis and design all the way through to implementation and user acceptance. This position’s primary responsibility is ensuring that software applications satisfy business needs. Business needs encompass new development as well as ongoing application support and include both functional and non-functional requirements.
The BSA works closely with the business area in order to elicit, analyze, communicate and validate requirements for business applications. This role understands business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the business area to achieve its goals. This role also works closely with architects to translate business requirements into detailed design specifications and system requirements. The successful candidate will possess a balanced mix of business and technical knowledge, interviewing and analytical skills and excellent oral and written communications skills.
Specific duties as a Business Systems Analyst include:
· Acting as technical lead in translating business requirements into technical specifications creating, configuring, customizing and maintain milestones and requirements for a single complex or multiple smaller projects.
· Interviewing clients to determine project specs and eliciting requirements using a standard SDLC methodology
· Authoring and publishing quality documentation covering all functional and business-system requirements
· Preparing use case for each project that documents process loads, different process paths and system applications
· Serving as liaison between various team members, including Developers, the Quality Assurance team and the client
· Validating the results of the testing process
· Utilizing root cause analysis in order to determine effective solutions to development issues
· Engaging in change control in order to prevent project “scope creep”
· Providing status reports on projects and deliverables
· Coordinating and assisting in system and user acceptance testing
· Employ object-oriented analysis and modeling techniques to analyze alternate options for technical problems and develop a "to-be" state from an “as-is" state

This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Information Services.

Desired Skills & Experience

Strong leadership and motivational skills to creatively and efficiently assist in driving development is required. Specific qualifications for the Business Systems Analyst position include:
· Extensive knowledge in the finance field as they would be designing software to help that department
· 5+ years’ experience as a Business Systems Analyst, experienced on projects with significant complexity; Prior consulting experience a plus
· Excellent oral and written communication and proven customer & account management skills.
· Experience developing and communicating presentation material for stakeholders.
· Experience identifying root causes, issues, and appropriate solutions.
· Experience with and working knowledge of process modeling, use-case development, cause-and-effect diagrams, SharePoint, process maps and interface specifications
· Experience with Account Payable, General Ledger and other Finance related projects
· Experience with Finance Systems platform analysis and selection
· Experience with and working knowledge of Java, .NET, C#, SQL, Progress and XML a plus
· Proven experience with SDLC (Waterfall) and/or Agile methodologies; RUP and Six Sigma a plus
· Strong organizational and time-management skills
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
· PMP certifications a plus
· Eligibility to work in the United States
