Director of Electrical Engineering

Position: Director of Electrical Engineering
Location: Troy, MI


Required Experience:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years engineering experience in the automotive industry with at least 3 years in a management capacity.  
  • Strong knowledge of the automotive industry with significant experience working at automotive suppliers or engineering consulting firms supporting suppliers and/or OEMs. 
  • Strong knowledge and experience in the Engineering Service sector
  • Proven ability to interact with current and potential clients in a both a managerial and sales capacity. 
  • Experience with department budgets and P& L responsibility.
  • Experience with strategic planning based on market trends/ forecasting and long term goals of the Company
  • Proven ability to work in a sales capacity.
  • Experience with hiring, managing and leading large teams of engineers to successful project completion.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with a variety of different cultures, skill sets and management, including C- levels.
  • Ability to create a product vision and champion that vision within the organization
  • Business experience in resource allocation, budgeting, project management
  • Proven ability to shift resources and priorities to meet critical deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively prioritize program deliverables and testing needs.
  • Familiarity with P&L on Profit Center level
     
Technical Requirements:
  • Strong breadth of knowledge in the fields of electrical engineering mechanical engineering and mechatronic systems.
  • Experience with design and implementation of products including design optimization, robust engineering, product line engineering, and design transfer.
  • Experience with designing, developing, testing and release of electrical systems and devices.
  • Ability to analyze technical reports
  • Proven success of leading in an engineering department or engineering resource company.
