Position: Design Release Engineer - ECUs
Location: Santa Clara, CA

Responsibilities:
  • Design, Development of electrical and electronic schematics, components and systems for EV vehicles & assist in the Release of the ECU Design;
  • Integrate & Design vehicle and drive line controls into vehicle electrical systems;
  • Complete engineering change notice documentation to manage existing and new parts;
  • Use CAD, Jira and PLM system to design and document electrical system, schematics, wire harnesses and wire routings;
  • Manage engineering and project management processes to maintain schedule, budget, and functionality. Plan and track validation of components;
  • Support launch assembly as needed, and resolve field & testing issues as identified;
  • Ensure industry leading quality and reliability is met/maintained/exceeded on all components;
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with mechanical engineers, manufacturing engineers and other professionals to ensure quality electrical designs;
  • Investigate and resolve warranty issues for power train electrical related claims;
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years design & release of automotive or commercial vehicle electrical components, including software, wire harnesses, electronic controls, switches, driver input devices, and/or HMI
  • Automotive embedded electronic component design & testing
  • Embedded real-time systems design and implementation;
  • Proficiency using Engineering tools (3D CAD, Matlab/Simulink, Jira, Jama);
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, lean, collaborative team environment with good planning/tracking skills;
  • Open to learning and using new processes and techniques and resourcefully solve complex technical issues;
  • Awareness of automotive regulations, especially affecting instrumentation, functions, safety, and other areas impacting electrical/electronic design, architecture, and functionality;
  • Knowledge of DFSS tools including FMEA, QFD, etc.
  • Good knowledge and experience with Microsoft Business Suite
