Account Manager

We are seeking am additional Account Manager join our Robotics and Motion team, the first major global industrial robotics manufacturer to produce robots in the United States. We are a leading supplier of industrial robots, modular manufacturing systems and services.
 
Tasks
 
Sales and business development responsibility for select Automotive, Tier One, and OEM clients in Robotics Business Unit to increase market share. The overall responsibility is to generate and follow up on robot and robot systems leads and develop and promote business with targeted end customers for robotic products, systems, and services.
 
 
Typical duties include, but are not limited to the following:
 
  • Develop and implement plan to penetrate target list of targeted Automotive, Tier One, and OEM customers,
  • Take the initiatives to do what it takes to develop a customer base, including cold calls if necessary.
  • Analyze business and technical issues simultaneously.
  • Submit complete and accurate proposal and forecast information.
  • Utilize value base selling techniques with customers and demonstrate Return on Investment sales approach to key customers.
  • At first, this professional will cover the areas of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, but the territory should be expanded soon.
 
 
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • High School Diploma or GED AND 9 years of experience in sales, automation, engineering, customer support, OR --
  • Associate Degree AND 7 years of experience in sales, automation, engineering, customer support, OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 5 years of experience in sales, automation, engineering, customer support.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business, and 5 years’ experience in sales is preferred;
  • Sales experience with Automotive, Tier 1, and OEM industries.
  • Experience in sales with Body in White, Paint, and Power Train projects is a plus.
  • At first, this professional will cover the areas of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana, but the territory should be expanded soon.
  • Position requires the ability to travel 75% + of the time during a typical workweek.
  • Ability to work with a variety of levels of customer personnel from Management to Labor.
  • Ability to professionally and technically represent ABB in front of customers, and the ability to develop and maintain large and small customer accounts.
  • PC proficiency to include MS applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Candidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the USA.
